Containers have seen an upswing in being repurposed as both commercial and living spaces. Its vast availability, considerable low cost and durability have made it the perfect alternative to traditional brick and mortar buildings. Containers are designed to be almost indestructible. They use Corten steel which is very thick, strong, and durable. By installing proper wall and ceiling insulation plus a concrete roof deck at the top floor, combined with passive cooling and excellent cross ventilation, with the option of air-conditioning, our container rooms are very comfortable and cozy as any other luxurious hotel room. They are designed to be stacked-up until seven levels high without the need for additional structural supports. Once locked together, these containers are very stable and are proven to withstand even stormy voyages at sea. With additional structural supports, this container hotel being only 3 stories high, is structurally sound and safe.
Eco-friendly features as solar panels, water recycling, energy-saving lights, and upcycled materials to name a few are currently in place at Containers by Eco Hotel Tagaytay. Additionally, the use of surplus containers repurposed to an eco-chic and iconic hotel adds value and truth to the ‘green’ claim while inspiring other future hotel projects to incorporate eco-friendly values in design.
