Cabins by Eco Hotel was the first Eco Hotel built in 2015. It started as a socio civic project with the aim of giving back to the local community. It was built to showcase how recyclables can be used to build a structure which used homemade bricks, sustainable wood used for the façade were all from old homes, and pinewood used for the beds are from sustainable farming. It was a challenge to build the most comfortable rooms in small spaces.
Each room was designed to have a boxed bed that frames the huge window like a picture frame-some rooms with a view of Taal Lake, and a cabin sized bathroom. Biophilic design principles were applied by studying the natural airflow and lighting that brought in nature to its interiors. Solar power has been installed on-grid, harnessing power from the sun, and a rain water catchment is a source of water for cleaning and landscaping. Artworks were mostly from upcycled and art cycled materials, showcasing Filipino artists.
There are available common areas in all floors and board games that you can use for free. Co-working spaces are also available should you need them. Every corner and detail in Cabins showcase sustainability and environmental friendly principles. At the roof deck, we have our Mexican restaurant Chinampa Taqueria with the amazing view of the Taal lake while enjoying your meal and drinks.
